CEMAC to enhance the free movements of people and goods

25/10/2017Heads of States of the Central African Economic and Monetary Union Community CEMAC are meeting next Tuesday October 31st 2017 in Chad to discuss the way forward on borders agreement policies.

The submmit which has been convened by the President of the Republic of Chad Idriss Deby Itno – (current acting President of CEMAC), will take place in the country’s capital Djamena.

Remarkable amongst border related issues to be discussed, are the restrictions placed on the free movements of people and goods within Csessionuntries.

Even after having signed several agreements uplifting restrictions to free movements of people and goods within member countries, some countries have hardly respected regulations binding the agreement.

The agenda on the free movements of people and goods will be chaired by former Prime Minister of Gabon Professor Daniel Ona Ondo.

It is a point that had earlier been earmarked by all the Heads of States present in their last 13th Ordinary Session of the conference of Heads of States of CEMAC in Djibloho- Equatorial Guinea on February 17, 2017.

Apart from discussing the problem of movements, appointment of new executives for some institutions within the Community, finance related issues and the consolidation of intergration achievements will be discussed at the session.

before the special session holds come October 31st, the Council of Ministers of Central African Economic Union will be held on 29th October 2017.
