Social Dialogue: National Labour Advisory Board examines four ground-breaking bills

 

19/10/2017The Minister of Labour and Social Security has chaired the 20th Session of the National Labour Advisory Board.

The tripartite meeting between government, employees and employers took place this 17th October 2017 at the Conference Hall of that Ministry.

Amongst committee members were representatives of the Minister of Finance and the General Manager of the National Social Insurance Fund.

The agenda of the meeting was the examination of four draft bills intended to improve on the conditions of workers under the labour code.

These includes ;
– Social security benefits offered to workers under the labour code and the percentage of social insurance funds

– Proposed increase of old age, disability and death pension

– The terms and conditions for the exercise of the duties of staff representatives

– Reformed nomenclature of business in Cameroon.

The adopted drafts will be forwarded to the Prime Minister who further examins them before they are presented to the legislature .
