The campus of the University of Yaoundé II in Soa was full with anxious students carrying messages of thanks and gratitude to the President of the Republic for the gift of computers. Some of the students carried placards with messages appreciation to the Head of State for the laptops.
Authorities and students of the University of Yaoundé ll, Soa expressed gratitude to the President of the Republic Paul Biya for the laptops he promised and has given them through the Minister of Higher Education.
During the distribution PBHEV computers to the first one thousand students, Professor Jacques Fame Ndongo said the computers are among others things meant to open the Cameroonian students to wave of digital transformation.
The distribution exercise that began at the University of Yaounde I on Tuesday will continue in other state universities subsequently.
Each of the computers manufactured by ShenzhenX&F Technology Co Ltd has an Intel(R) Atom (TM) with a Central Processing Unit of 1.44 GHz.
The Random Access memory capacity is 2.00Go. The computers are also equipped with the Window 10 operating system and other windows software.
Officials explained that each computer has also been connected to a cloud that provides addition storage capacity of more than one 100 Go.
