2018 CHAN: Intermediate Lions continue to prepare

 

The Intermediate Lions of Cameroon have intensify preparations ahead of the 2018 African Nations, Championship in Morocco.

Since their arrival in Moroco on Tuesday 2nd  January 2018, the baby Lions have been on the offensive making use of the least opportunity as the days narrow down to the Championship proper.

The team has been engaged in a series of test games as part of their preparations.

Equipe A’ du Cameroun

The Intermediate Lions of Cameroon were defeated by Morocco 3-1 on Saturday 6th January 2018 at the Mohamed V Stadium in Casablanca on day-2 of their friendly encounters.

During their first test game,the boys of Head Coach Rigobert Song Bahanag dished out an incredible show but failed to win.

Raphael Messi Bouli’s exuberance and brilliance paid off during the match as he netted at the fifth minute of play helping his team to record a one all tie game with Guinea at the Mouleh Hassan Stadium in Rabat.

Still in line with preparations,the team will play their third and last friendly encounter against Uganda this Tuesday 9 January 2018 in Rabat,Morocco.

Prior to the match, Coach Rigobert Song and his technical crew are revisiting the drawing board and devicing best methods for the team.

After inviting six new players to join the camp,Song says there is still much to be done so to put the team at its best ahead of the continental football event.

In the midst of all these, the Head Coach of the Intermediate Lions of Cameroon is optimistic and promises a better future for the fans.

After the clash with Morocco, the team travelled back to Rabat where they are continuing with their training ahead of the third and last friendly encounter against Uganda.

The tournament, which is for African footballers based in their own domestic leagues, will be staged in Morocco between 12 January and 4 February.

In Summary,the sixteen participating teams have been partitioned in four groups as follows;

Group A (Casablanca)

Morocco, Guinea, Sudan, Mauritania

Group B (Marrakech)

Ivory Coast, Zambia, Uganda, Namibia

Group C (Tangier)

Libya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Equatorial Guinea

Group D (Agadir)

Angola, Cameroon, Congo Brazzaville, Burkina Faso

The host Morocco will face Muritania in the opening match on 13th January 2018 while  Sudan will close ends with Guinea later on the same day
