Hotel managers affirm their readiness to receive CAF Inspection team

The Minister of State, Minister of Tourism and Leisure, Bello Bouba Maigari has reaffirmed the Cameroon’s readiness to host the 2019 African Cup of Nations. The Minister was speaking to managers of hotels selected to host different delegations and teams during the continental football jamboree.

The meeting in Yaoundé this Wednesday, 10th January 2018 was to educate the hotel managers on the prerequisites that the inspections teams from the Confederation of African Football expect during their visit that begins on Thursday, 11th January 2018.

Hotel Managers from the North, South West, West, Littoral and Centre regions that will host different poles were educated on the need to give convincing and reassuring responses to the CAF Inspectors. The hotels are expected to show the inspectors that they will be ready to receive and lodge the delegations in the best possible conditions.

They have also been reminded to meticulously respect the prescriptions and deadline given by CAF when carrying out construction works, rehabilitation or maintenance of their hotels.

The Minister of State, Minister of Tourism and Leisure, Bello Bouba Maigari reassured the hotel managers of government’s multifaceted support in their projects.

The managers of the different hotels in a workshop that followed the Minister’s speech took turns to highlight their level of preparedness ahead of the competition and the inspection visit.

General Manager, Mountain Hotel Buea

The General Manager of Mountain Hotel Buea in the South West Region, Mninglo Grace noted that she runs a world class hotel that recently hosted the Secretary General of the Commonwealth and other high level dignitaries of international standing. The General Manager said that the hotel that has a capacity of 100 rooms with 30 apartments amongst several other facilities is constantly updating the quality of its services.

General Manager, Fini Hotel Limbe

Fini hotel in Limbe in the South West region was amongst those selected. Its Manager, Catherine Dima sounded reassuring as she indicated that the hotel and its facilities are in their best form.

Director of Project Tajidor Gardens Bangou

In the West Region, a giant construction project is ongoing to build a 100 room capacity complex on 16 hectares. The Director of the project, Babong Omere told the press that Tajidor Gardens hotel complex Bangou will be completely constructed before the CAF deadline.

 

Director General Kaloupe Firm

In the North region, the Koulope firm is constructing two new hotels. The Director told pressmen that hotels will be ready in time. Mr Koulope said feasibility studies are at 56% done while construction is already 6% gone. He reassured that the complex will be ready in ten months.
