Ministry of Trade: Cosumption of Home-made goods encouraged
The Minister of Trade Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana has assured the population of the availability of Cameroon made goods in all parts of the country and at affordable prices.
He was speaking in Yaounde while receiving new year wishes from his personnel.
Apart from the campaign on the consumption of home made goods, Mr. Magloire Atangana assured the population of the intense efforts his Ministry will make to stop the illegal importation and sales of agricultural products and also to lobby for government’s support from international distribution of sales.
More over The Ministry of Trade will also fine tune strategies of helping business farmers to survive the fall in the price of coacoa.
According to official statistics, Cameeoon-made goods contributes 17.3% of Cameroon’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
The main manufacturing activities are in petroleum production and refining, aluminum production, food processing, light consumer goods, textiles and ship repair.
Majority of the Industries are located in Douala the economic capital of Cameroon.
