Secondary Education: 2018 GCE Registration Deadline extended

The Minister of Secondary Education, Jean Ernest Massena Ngalla Bibehe  has extended the registration deadline for the 2018 General Certificate of Education (GCE) examination.

 

The decision was made public in a communique signed by the minister on 2nd January 2018 in Yaoundé.

According to the communique, the initial deadline of Friday 29th December 2017 has been extended to Friday 2nd February 2018.

The extension comes amidst the socio-political protest that has rocked Cameroon ‘s two English speaking regions for over one year.Some schools that were shut down as a the result of the unrest have timidly resumed while others have remained closed in spite of efforts made by the government.

The Secondary Education boss in the communique, instructs the Registrar of the GCE Board Humphrey Ekema Monono and Regional Delegates of the North and South West Regions to implement the extension decision to the letter.

 

Worthy of note is the fact that the registration deadline for the 2017 GCE examination was extended four times before the exams took place in June.
