Douala: MINEPAT talks business with private sector
The Minister of the Economy Planning and Regional Development (MINEPAT), Louis Paul Motaze has launched the 2018 economic year in Cameroon.
The ceremony, this 20th of February 2018 has been organised at the GICAM headquarters in Douala.
All actors of the economic development chain from the private sector are taking a retrospective look at their 2017 performance to identify areas where improvement is most urgent.
According to the Minister of the Economy Planning and Regional Development, the plan of action for 2018 will see the diversification of economic activities and processing of home-produced goods.
He has also expressed the hope that the encounter be the ideal forum to lay down strategies and orientation for the revival of economic growth in Cameroon.
Minister Louis Paul Motaze stated that, even though the public / private sector discussion is permanent, the current meeting has the advantage of having brought together various segments of the private sector.
He has promised GICAM a more active government role as facilitator especially in obtaining bank loans.
Meanwhile the President of GICAM, Celestin Tawamba who welcomed the Minister said all discussions in that light were to be carried out in all frankness and with mutual respect.
The meeting is scheduled to end Wednesday 21st February 2018.
