The first drone fabricated in Cameroon has been presented to the public this 2nd February 2018 in Yaounde.
The multi-fonctional drone is the brainchild of one of Cameroon’s start ups, “Will and Brothers” lead by Mr Williams Elong, Chief Executive Officer of Drone Africa Art.
The Drone Africa Art that conceived and executed the project is made up of a 20 man strong team.
The team is specialised in the designing, assembling and marketing of drones in Cameroon and Africa.
The Minister of Telecommunication Libon Li Likeng who precided over the presentation ceremony praised the ingenuity of the young Cameroonians.
The Minister called on other youths to put their creativity in this digital era for the socio- economic advancement of Cameroon.
Mrs Libom Li Likeng stated that,”Today’s event is perfectly in line with the commitment taken by the government to support the initiative of young people following the Head of State’s instructions”.
The Minister remainded the audience that similar innitiatives including;
#Globe trotter of the digital economy
#The platform for the identification of projects and the training of project holders organised in Yaounde and Douala are all ample proof of the youth engagement in the advancement of the country.
The drone presented to the public is equipped with a sophisticated camera to capture images over a long distance.
The drone can also be controlled remotely.
