Commonwealth Games: Cameroon’s Kalkaba gets Commonwealth recognition
The president of the Cameroon Olympic Sports Committee and head of the Cameroon Commonwealth Games Association Hamad Kalkaba Malboum has been awarded with a medal of merit by the president of the Commonwealth Games Federation – Scotland’s Louis Martins.
This was during the association’s general assembly that held today in Gold Coast Australia – on the sidelines of the Commonwealth Games that open on Wednesday.
While presenting the award Mrs. Martins praised the development efforts and long lasting cooperation skills of Mr. Kalkaba, saying they go a long way to consolidate the ideals of the Olympic movement and consolidate world peace.
Mr. Kalkaba thanked the most senior state officials in Cameroon for their constant support and confidence in his sports management capacities, promising to do more for his country and the world.
Cameroon at the 2018 Commonwealth Games
Cameroon has competed at every Commonwealth Games since joining the Commonwealth in 1995. They have won 34 medals, including ten golds, 10 silvers and 14 bronze medals.
Cameroon will be participating in a six different disciplines with forty one athletes this year.
