Constitutional Council invited to be impartial

The eleven members of the constitutional council have taken the oath of office at Yaoundé Conference Centre, this Tuesday, 6th March 2018.
The swearing in took place during the Congress of the Parliament, which is a meeting both House of Parliament. The Congress was chaired by the chairman of the Executive Bureau of the National Assembly who is also the Speaker of the House, Hon Cavaye Yeguie Djibril.
Each of the members took turns to solemnly take the oath before the Congress. The historic event which is the first of its kind in Cameroon was attended by the Prima Minister – Head of Government, members of the Judiciary, diplomats and other dignitaries.
Sociopolitical groups from different parts of the country were also present at the courtyard of the Yaoundé conference centre.
Dance groups from the different cultural zones of the country displayed Cameroon’s rich and diverse cultural diversity.
At the close of the ceremony, different observers expressed their wish to see the council leave up to expectation.
