2018 Commonwealth Games : Seyi Wilfried keeps hope alive

Cameroonian 75kg boxer, Seyi Wilfried is the only hope for a gold medal for Team Cameroon at the ongoing 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.

 

Seyi Wilfried crossed over to the quarter-final stage  in the 75kg men’s category after beating Ryan Scaife of New Zealand.

The Cameroonian boxer during the competition, dished out powerful and accurate punches to overpower the opponent from New Zealand.

The composured medal hopeful, has been scheduled to face-off with a dutch boxer this Thursday 12th April 2018 in the quarter-finals.

 

Wilfried Seyi, is not a new comer in his discipline. He was amongst those who gave Cameroon a name at the 2016 Games in Rio De Janero.

 

In other competitions, Yombo Ulrich did not win the 81kgs boxing against Harley O’Reilly  from Canada.

Sandrine Mbumi’s three trails in the  Women’s Long Jump did not earn her a favourable poistion at the finals of the Women’s Long Jump this Wednesday 11th April 2018.

Another Cameroonian, Marcel Mayack II is still to compete this Wednesday 11th April 2018 at the  Men’s Long Jump.

As the competition rolls on, officials have reported the disappearence of eight Cameroonian athletes. Most disappeared from the competition village in Australia between 10th and 11th April 2018.
