2018 FENASCO B Games: The Caravan begins competition in Bertoua
The 2018 National Primary School Games, FENASCO B began this Wednesday 4th April 2018 in Bertoua.
The official launch of this 13th edition took place at the Bertoua ceremonial ground and presided over by the Minister of Basic Education, Yusuf Hadija Alim in the company of ten cabinet Ministers.
Over 1240 athletes from the ten regions staged a number of displays representing grassfields, sahel, coastal and the forest cultures of Cameroon.
They all conveyed messages and songs proning peace and the spirit of living together in a one and indivisible Cameroon.
The 13th edition of the competition has been organised under the theme “School sports bedrock for multiculturalism towards a united and peaceful Cameroon”
The Minister of Basic Education stated that this theme should guide the actions of all pupil athletes in all sporting disciplines .
The anti-doping federation on its part brandished messages on the ills of doping.
The ceremony also witnessed spectacular shows from the pupils and some artists.
The athletes will compete in eleven sports disciplines .
Some of the single and collective sports disciplines are; wrestling, table tennis, Judo, Football and Handball.
Five play grounds have been identified to host the different activities linked to the games.
The Yadime Primary school is dormitory for the pupil athletes.
