Agricultural Fisheries and Livestock Development: Youth Entrepreneurship on the spotlight

The steering committee of the support program for the renovation and development of professional training in the Agricultural, Livestock, and Fisheries sectors has met in it’s 15th session. Discussions focused on ways of attracting youths to invest in  both sectors. The committee held talks in Yaoundé this Monday 3rd April 2018.

The session was jointly chaired by the Ministers of Agriculture and Rural Development, Henri Eyebe Ayissi and that of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries, Dr Taiga. Agriculture and Livestock experts and other stakeholders evaluated the success rate of projects in some specific zones.

They also reviewed the third phase of the support program that was launched in 2008 with the aim of attracting Agricultural entrepreneurs to invest in both sectors. So far, the sum of 3.3 billion francs  set aside by the French Development Agency has sucessfully trained 4,600 Cameroonian Agricultural entrepreneurs in the ten regions.
