MINREX: Minister commissions newly appointed diplomats

More than 250 recently appointed officials at the Ministry of External Relations,MINREX have been installled into the central and diplomatic missions of the Ministry of Extenal Relations.

The staff took the oath to contribute in improving the internal and external management of the Ministry of Eternal Relations  this Saturday 14th April 2018.

During the highly attended event at the courtyard of the Ministry, Minister Lejeune Mbella Mbella acquainted the newly appointed diplomats on the major aspirations of Cameroon’s diplomacy.

 

The MINREX boss empasized that the diplomats in various functions have the obligation to defend the interest of the country.

His Excellency Lejeune Mbella Mbella told the diplomats to portray Cameroon as a country of peace and favourable investment destination in the Central African Sub-region.

The over 250 dilpomats appointed in a Presidential Decree of 7th November 2017 are as follows;

-Two Consuls General, including one Woman

-six Consuls,including one woman

-Fifteen Ministers Counsellor,including two women

-Twenty-nine First Counsellors,including twelve women

-Twenty-one Second Counsellors,including eight women

-Twenty-six First Secretaries,including six women

-Four Second Secretaries ,including one Woman

-Three Inspectors General,including one woman

-Four Technical Advisers,including one woman

-Twelve Directors,including two women

-Fifty-two Sub-Directors,including ninteen women

-One hundred and five Service Heads,Including forty-seven women.

Most of the diplomats appointed to different posts of responsibility are aged between 25 and 30 years old.

The group is composed of 103 women and 194 men as if to ensure the laudable effort of the government on gender equity.

Another perculiarity of the Presidential Decree was the desire to beef up the consular  staff in some diplomatic missions.

The Minister of External Relations did not only address the diplomats as a boss but gave them personal pieces of advice.

One of the newly Installed, Service Head for Political Relations with Nigeria, Anoma Ashi Nadege said she has been exhorted to be deligent in building the image of Cameroon as she executes her functions.

The Cameroon Consul to Nairobi,Vivian Nain Kuma on her part told Crtv Website that she will work hard to strengthen the economic and political relations between Cameroon and Kenya.

Another new face promoted to Head the Communication and Press Service of the Ministry, Christina Namando Monoke said she is ready for real business.

The ceremony to commission and bid farewell to newly appointed officials into the central and diplomatic missions of the Ministry was attended by;

The Minister Delegate in the Ministry of External Relations in charge of Relations with the Commonwealth,Felix Mbayu

The Minister Delegate in the Ministry of External Relations in charge of Relations with the Islamic World, Adoum Gargoum.

Amongst the family members and well-wishers were the diplomatic corps,returning diplomats and senior staff of the Ministry of External Relations
