46th National Day: Yaounde carries colours of the Day
The National Day celebration is barely 48 hours away and Yaounde, the capital of Cameroon has been decorated with the national colours – green, red, yellow.
Along the May 20 Boulevard, banners are flying high with messages of peace and unity.
A walk down the streets, roadside vendors and hawkers now propose little green-red-yellow flags to their customers.
Businesses involved in decoration now chose colours on the national flag for their decor.
Marie Jeanne Pouandichou states, “My decoration in national colours has been set. I am out to offer a special touch to customers as we celebrate our national day.”
At the Unity and National Integration Village planted in the National Museum, school children can be seen carrying little flags, some attached to their heads.
A middle-aged man whose art work is painted with the colours of the nation joined in painting Yaounde ahead of 20th May 2018.
He is Desire Benyomo, a blind man who has been involved in the creative arts business for ten years.
The graduate from the centre for the blind, was able to exhibit a dinning set in the national green, red, yellow colours.
The 2018 National Day celebrations will be remembered for the special touch given by patriotic Cameroonians.
