Continental Free Trade

Tonight on CRTV  television, OUR COMMON MARKET a 52- minute documentary by Charles Ebune who is also  the anchor of Globe Watch. He delves into the the Continental Free Trade Area by African countries to create  the single largest trading community in the  world with close to two billion consumers  and a gross domestic product of nearly three trillion dollars annually. The fifty  two minutes documentary is actually based on the field  presences of the narrator from the African Capital, Addis Ababa to chronicle with policy makers, the net impact of the African Common Market as a tool for continental unity.

First class policy information comes from the Executive  Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission  for Africa  Vera Songwe, the ideology of the Common Market is  explained  by African Union scholar, Jean Emmanuel Pondi, governments determination to see it  a reality is interpreted by Ghanian finance minister, Nana Ofori Atta, the salutation of the initiative from development partners is done by the United  Nations Development partners and the impact on the African people is recounted by the former president of the African Development Bank, Donald Kaberuka amongst others.
