2018 Golden Movie Awards: Cameroonian movie “A Good time to Divorce” bags 6 awards

Cameroonian film  “A Good Time To Divorce” has swept six trophies at the just ended 2018 edition of the Golden Movie Awards Africa organised in Ghana at the Hotel Ambassador Movenpick.

The  movie was the highest nominated film at the event with eleven nominations and went home with six including: Best Drama, Best Story, Best Director and Overall Golden Movie.

In all, five Cameroonian movies made it to the nomination phase and “A Good Time to Divorce” was the movie of the night.

The movie “A Good time to Divorce” won awards in the following categories;

-Best Art Director: Arnurin Nwenubom

-Best Script writer: Nkanya Nkwai

-Best Drama movie: Nkanya Nkwai

-Best Director: Nkanya Nkwai

-Best Actor in a Drama: Alenne Menget

-Overall Golden Movie: A Good Time To Divorce

Cameroon was given a standing ovation during the ceremony as Alenne Menget and Syndy Emade walked up to collect the Overall Golden Movie Award at the event.

The big win for Cameroon at the international film festival is prove of the positive energy filmmakers and stakeholders have invested for the growth of the film industry in Cameroon.

Just to note that, In 2017,another Cameroonian film, “Samba” Produced by Achille Brice won 3 tropies at Ghanaian Golden Movie Awards.

“A Good Time to Divorce” is a Cameroonian Movie Directed By Nkanya Nkwai and Produced By Lami and Edie Boris.

The Golden Movie Awards which just held last night is an award ceremony organised to recognise filmmakers all around Africa who are doing a great job.
