Humanitarian Assistance to NW/SW: Distribution phase launched in Douala

The distribution phase of 12.7 billions Cfaf of the Government Humanitarian Assistance Plan for the North West and South West Regions has been launched in Douala.

The Minister of Territorial Administration Paul Atanga Nji kick started the operations on Friday, 13th July 2018 in the economic capital with consignments of ; food stuffs, goods of basic necessity and construction materials.

Douala by virtue of its proximity will serve as a storage centre for the goods destined to victims of the NW and SW Regions, the Minister hinted.

He added that the proximity of Douala to the the two regions makes it an ideal hub for all resources destined to the victims.
Minister Paul Atanga Nji emphasized that the distribution of the products to the affected population will be carried out in transparency.

He was accompanied to the storage centre for the launch of the distribution phase by representatives of international organisations that are partnering with government, to provide humanitarian needs to the affected persons in the NW and SW Regions.

During the fund raising , they were camps for the Government Emergency Humanitarian Assistance Plan for the North West and South West regions.

The population of the Littoral Region mobilized close to 230 million CFA Francs.

The University of Douala and its specialized institutions, also contributed the sum of 11 millions CFAF for the same humanitarian motive.
