Presidential election 2018: SDF elaborates campaign strategy

The National Executive Committee of the Social Democratic Front (SDF), has examined mechanisms for mobilizing funding to finance the campaigns of their presidential candidate for the 7th October 2018 presidential election.

The executive members of the SDF party also elaborated an electoral campaign strategy for the victory of SDF’s candidate for the presidency, Joshua Osih.

The meeting that held at the SDF Chairman’s conference hall at Ntarikon in Bamenda the 28 July 2018 was presided over by the party’s chairman John Fru Ndi.

Elected representatives of the party, including Mayors, members of the National Assembly and the Senate also took part in the meeting that was made public by the Secretary General of the party, Senator Tsomelou Jean.

According to the National Executive Committee, the SDF will participate in all stages of the electoral process. At the end of the gathering, party official said that they are ready to win the hearts of the national and international electorate.

The SDF party that is considered the lead opposition party in Cameroon after consistently coming its second it all elections it has taken part has put its hopes for the presidency on Joshua Osih, who is younger that the party chairman who ran unsuccessfully in two presidential elections.

SDF officials intend to travel to the ten regions of Cameroon as from 31st July 2013 to meet all compatriots, listen to them and take into account their expectations. The nationwide tour will also be an opportunity to urge potential voters to withdraw their voter cards ahead of the7th October poll.

The meeting is holding at a time when the Electoral Board of the elections governing body, Elections Cameroon (ELECAM) has not published the finalist list of candidates retained from the 28 that deposited files to run for the elections. However, the National Executive Committee is optimistic and already taking measures to prepare ahead of the launch of campaigns on 24th September 2018.
