The deadline for the convening of the 2018 presidential elections is approaching and the quests for potential electors register is gathering steam.
So far, Two hundred and fifty seven thousand, two hundred (257200) new voters have registered on the electoral list in Cameroon.
An additional 15000 Cameroonians living abroad have also registered with Elecam branches in foreign embassies. The Statistic from Elections Cameroon is as of 3rd January 20108 date of the launch of revision of the electoral list up to 1st June 2018.
According to the information, the Littoral region is topping the chart with 75 487 while the Centre region comes second with 50 998 registered voters.
The North West and South West regions tail the list with a total of 8,994. According to the statistics, a majority of the registered voters are men representing 168 621 as oppose to 106599 women.

The new management team of the Elections Management body hopes to have seven million registered voters by the time the electoral corps is convened.
The Chairman of the Electoral Board of Elections Cameroon, Enow Abrams Egbe and the Director General of Elections, Erik Essousse travelled to the different regional branches to galvanise the staff and improve their working conditions.
Registration of voters general runs from 1st January to 31st August every year. However, according to the law on elections, the registration of voters will be suspended as soon as the electorate is convened.
