The close to 27 delegations from Africa invited to Beijing are expected to come up with a blueprint for China-Africa cooperation in the new era.
The Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) which comes up on 3-4 September 2018 shall be organised under the theme “China and Africa: Toward an Even Stronger Community with a Shared Future through Win-Win Cooperation.”
African leaders, the African Union and officials of the United Nations are expected to propose new ways to boost China- Africa cooperation.
The summit will identify a concrete action plan that provides visible guidelines for China-Africa cooperation for the next three years.
Other agreement shall see FOCAC engage in industrialization and agricultural modernization in Africa.
The high point of the summit shall be a keynote address from the Chinese President Xi Jinping.
China-Africa Leaders and Business Representatives will take resolutions on the environment, peace and security and other international and regional issues of common concern.
It is the third time the Chinese government is holding talks with African leaders (first being in 2006 and second in 2017 in Johannesburg.)
FOCAC shall witness the presence of the chairman of the African Union (AU) and the United Nations Secretary General.
