The Under 17 Lions of Cameroon have been crowned 2018 champion of the Central African Football Federations’ Union Tournament (UNIFFAC) organised in Equatorial Guinea-Malabo.
The baby lions overpowered Congo 3-1 in the final of the tournament.
The goals were scored by Ben Hamed Ndongo, Alioum Moubarak while Peya scored an own goal for Congo.
The victory enables the U-17 Lion grab a qualification ticket for the 2019 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in Tanzania.
The way to victory for the baby Lions began when the team beat host country, Equatorial Guinea 2 -0 on Saturday 11th August 2018.
Cameroon played a total of four games scored seventeen goals and conceded five.
Head Coach, Thomas Libih who is gradually building a team of international repute as he gets credit for the latest victory.
Apart from the trophy, two of the players received distinctions for being frontrunners in the following ;
-Best Player of the tournament, Alioum Moubarak
-Top scorer, Mvoue Steve
