Late US Senator, John McCain to be laid in state at the Capitol

Deceased US Senator John Sidney McCain III will be laid in state in Capitols in Arizona and Washington DC respectively.

The late Senator will be laid in state in Arizona Capitol on Wednesday 29th August 2018 and Washington DC Capitol on Friday 31st August 2018.

The Republican will be given state honors at the Arizona Capitol during a service in North Phoenix Baptist Church.

The former presidential hopeful who ran against Barack Obama in 2008 died on Saturday 25th August 2018.

The 81-year-old passed on at his home in Cornville from brain cancer.

His wife, Cindy McCain, took to twitter to share her emotions: “My heart is broken. I am so lucky to have lived the adventure of loving this incredible man for 38 years. He passed the way he lived, on his own terms, surrounded by the people he loved, in the place he loved best.”

Late Senator John McCain was a vocal critic of President Donald Trump.

The death of the popular statesman came 48 hours after Trump refused to address McCain’s legacy. He reportedly rejected a proposal for an official White House statement in favour of the late man.

Despite all the odds, President Trump tweeted “My deepest sympathies and respect go out to the family of Senator John McCain. Our hearts and prayers are with you!”

The late Senator, before dying, refused incumbent President Donald Trump from attending his funeral, according to NBC News.

The family of the one-time naval pilot has programmed a private funeral on Saturday 1st September 2018 at the Washington National Cathedral.

The father of seven will be buried on Sunday 2nd September 2018 in Annapolis, Md.

Former US presidents, Barack Obama and George W. Bush, will say eulogies at his funeral in Washington.

Just to note that Senator McCain fought in Vietnam where he was tortured severely for five years as a war prisoner.
