The Minister of Public Works, Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi has faced the press to discuss some on-going development projects in Cameroon.
In a press briefing organised in Yaounde on 23rd August 2018, focus was on the level of execution of three road construction projects: the second bridge over the River Wouri including associated projects and the development of the East and West entrances to Douala.
The second bridge over River Wouri
The Minister affirmed that the bridge is already operational, however other associated projects in some parts of Bonaberi and Deido are to be completed by September 2018.

The first phase of work which included widening the road to obtain 2×3 lanes with road junctions and a passover is almost complete.
In the meantime, the second phase which is expected to extend to Yassa and the Japoma stadium will be completed by the end of March 2019 more so as Cameroon is hosting the Africa Cup of Nations in 2019.
The West entrance of Douala
This includes the widening of the road to create more lanes and junctions so as to ease the flow of traffic. Thus far, the project is past 90 per cent execution.
During the Minister’s exchange with the press, a video explaining the situation of the projects and the challenges encountered on the field was projected.
The Minister of Public Works also used the opportunity to thank the country’s development partners especiay the French Development Agency for their support.
