The revised and updated edition of Communal Liberalism authored by President Paul Biya highlights his vision of making Cameroon a liberal society with citizens of integrity vying for a democratic and prosperous Nation.
The author described by political pundits as a visionary statesman, has remained constant in his ideals of the nation and the book is befitting in context and content.
The political class holds that the ideology transmitted by Communal Liberalism is constant and becomes even more pertinent with time. “President Paul Biya has a philosophy and this philosophy has never changed. When we go deeper into what the President has already said, you will notice that it has never changed.” Louis Paul Motaze Minister of Finance said after during the launch.
On his part, the Secretary of State in the Ministry of Mines, Industries and Technological Development, Fuh Calistus Gentry described the book as a great work of arts that is getting better with time. “Over the years it has become more relevant to the present situations in which our country is involved and is emerging”. He added.
The book has also been perceived as a source of inspiration to economic experts. Finance Minister Alamine Ousman Mey says, “Chapter Three is going to give us a new impetus in terms of economic development. Nine Principles have been presented in this document. This is to lead our economy to its independence based on strategic pacification.”
Some of those who read through the earlier version hold that the philosophy of the author is contextual today. “I perused the earlier version when I was just a student in the University of Yaoundé. It inspired me in many dimensions. … The vision of a great statesman has lingered on and it has stood the test of time.” The Secretary of State at the Ministry of Justice in charge of Penitentiary Administration, Doh Jerome Penbaga told CRTV.
Some civil administrators perceive the book as an ideal governance code. The Minister of Public Health reacting to the sections regarding his domain said, “The book continues to be well-timed, because the Head of State prescribes solidarity and social justice in the health sector.”
Different aspects of the life of the nation summarised in 30 objectives towards emergence have also been treated in the revised edition of Communal Liberalism authored by Cameroon’s chief Executive, Paul Biya.
