2018 Presidential Election: CEMAC Heads of State Congratulate Paul Biya

Heads of State of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central African States, CEMAC have addressed their congratulations to the re-elected president of the Republic of Cameroon.

The congratulations were extended during an extraordinary summit in Ndjamina, Chad on Thursday, 25th October 2018.

Chadian President, Idriss Deby Itno while addressing the summit said, “Allow me to seize this opportunity, To congratulate, on behalf of all CEMAC space leaders, President Paul Biya for his brilliant re-election to the highest office. And, the Cameroonian people for their dignified and exemplary conduct in this election”.

He also hailed the “civic and patriotic attitude” of the Cameroonian people.

The Chadian president, host of the extra ordinary summit also urged the unfortunate candidates to strive for the best interests of their nation.

President Idriss Deby Itno it’s “absolutely imperative” for Cameroonians to consolidate the country’s “peace and stability”. He added that “It also leads me to invite some Cameroonian brothers to follow the path of wisdom by putting an end to the warlike and destructive desires.”

Cameroon’s Prime Minister – Head of Government, Philemon Yang represented the Head of State at the N’Djamena extraordinary summit that sought to workout strategies to revive the economy of the CEMAC zone.
