National Assembly: the 2017 law of regulation in review

The Finance and Budget Committee is working on this bill in plenary session on November 12, 2018.

On Monday, Finance Minister Louis Paul Motaze was facing the Finance and Budget Committee. Indeed, it was question of examining the draft law on the regulation of the Republic of Cameroon for 2017.

During this last plenary session of November, many bills await adoption. Among them, the draft ratifying the ordinance, amending and supplementing certain provisions of the Finance Act 2018.

Projects reviewed

The members of the Committee on Foreign Affairs were following today the reports of three draft texts already examined. First, the bill that authorizes the head of state Paul Biya to ratify the amendments to the Charter of the Organization of the Islamic Conference. These are two amendments relating to the change of name and the holding of sessions.

Then, the text that empowers the President of the Republic to ratify the agreement on the promotion and reciprocal protection of investors between the Government of Cameroon and that of Turkey. Objective: to improve the business climate between the two countries.

Then, the bill authorizes the head of state to ratify the Minamata convention on mercury. It concerns the protection of human health against the devastating effects of the Minamata disease caused by mercury.
