Civil Aviation: Experts discuss airport security in Cameroon
Cameroon has attained 70 percent of international civil aviation security exigencies.
The country is also in the process of becoming a full operational member of the International Civil Aviation Organisation.
This was the substance of a presentation from the Director of Security at the National Civil Aviation Authority, Remy Onana Ossong.
He was speaking in Yaounde at the start of a two day workshop on traveler identification program and public key directory.
The two day workshop has been organised to identify security lapses at the airports and other factors that render airport vulnerable to terrorism and cross border criminality.
Workshop facilitators who include experts from the International Civil Aviation Organisation will also give practical sessions on the traveler identification program and the public key directory.
The bio-metric and electronic issuing of passports are also factors being discussed.
Participation of the workshop include the staff of the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority.
