Members of Parliament of the Federal Republic of Germany held talks with members of the National Commission for the Promotion of Bilingualism and Multiculturalism in Yaounde.
The German delegation was led by Otto von Holtz accompanied by German Ambassador to Cameroon, Dr Hans Dieter Stell.
The delegation was received in audience by the President of the Commission Peter Mafany Musonge. Their discussions focused mainly on peace and security in Cameroon.
The head of the German delegation said they are interested in seeing peace and stability reign in Cameroon.
The delegation also discussed possibilities of fostering cooperation with Cameroon. With regards to the security situation in the country, the delegation sought to know what the the commission is doing to promote equity in the use of languages and cultures within the context of the promotion of multiculturalism.
They also sought to know what amount of progress has been made on the ground with regards to mediation.
Otto von Holtz urged the commission to highlight the values of democracy, human dignity and gender equity.
