A presidential decree of 4th December 2018 appointed former Governor of the
Littoral region, head of the disarmament, demobilization and reintegration committee for ex-fighters of the Boko Haram and armed groups in the North West and South West regions of Cameroon.
A profile of NDDRC coordinator
Fai Yengo Francis is a retired senior civil administrator.
He has been Senior Divisional Officer in a number of administrative units including Menchum Division during the Lake Nyos disaster before becoming Governor of four regions including Adamawa, North West, Centre and Littoral. He was Governor of the Centre region during the 2018 hunger strike.
The native of Oku was born on 11th February 2018. He is of the 1980 graduating class of the National School of Administration and Magistracy, ENAM.
Role of the NDDRC
The appointment comes four days after the NDDRC was created to accompany ex-fighters of Boko Haram group and armed groups in the North West and South West regions.
The Committee’s with headquarter is in Yaounde with regional Centres in Buea, Bamenda and Mora has been placed under the supervision of the Prime Minister.
