President Paul Biya in his address to the Youth this 10th February 2019 assured the youth that he is aware of difficulties and aspirations for change.
In his 17 minutes address, the Head of State highlighted the need for modernisation of the economy and social justice.
“The future of Cameroon will be built with you.” President told the youths before saluting them for their participation in the 2018 elections.
He however decried the excesses on social media and recommended that the youth adopt a more commendable way of engaging in politics by taking part in elections and participate in building a the country.
Situation of the economy
The economy is not buoyant enough absurd a the graduates.
He urged government to create opportunities, international and local companies to invest in Cameroon and urged youths to take up available jobs.
Regarding issues related to employment, the President has instructed the government facilitate the social and professional insertion of youth.
He also told the youths that the future is bright adding that projections show that the growth rate can increase from 3.8 in 2018 to 4.4 in 2019 and 4.7 in 2020 with positive spin-off.
They are plans to create 500 thousand jobs in 2019.
They are also plans to improve training through the creation of a training of trainer center in Yaounde.
He assured youths that Cameron has overcome challenges and has continue to forge ahead.
The President took the engagement to continue to pursue with the youths a responsible, democratic and just society.
