Bini Warak Power Plant project: Workers laid off , Government weighs-in

Two government Ministers have been discussing with sacked workers of the Bini Wara Hydro Power Plant in the Adamawa region

The worker with a two year contract had their agreement terminated barely one year after.

The Chinese Sino Hydro Construction company explains it was due to financial constraints that the decision was made.

Minister of Labour and Social Security, Gregoire Owona and the Minister of Water and Energy, Gaston Eloundou Essomba initiated a fact finding mission to the Adamawa region.

Both government officials held talks with the angry workers and their employer, the Sino Hydro Construction company.

The officials promised to overturn the unlawful dismissal disclosing that government has already made a payment of close to 13million CFA frs required to secure the 64billion funding for the first phase of the project.

The workers are set to resume construction works on the Hydro Power Plant in a not too distant future.
