*General Asso’o Emane Benoit : The brave soldier begins journey to eternity*
Funeral programme for Major General Asso’o Emane Benoit who died on Thursday, 17th January 2019 in Yaounde has started.
The remains were laid in state at the Yaounde General Hospital mortuary on Thursday 21st February 2019.
The Director of Civil Cabinet at the Presidency, Samuel Mvondo Ayollo, cabinet Ministers, Director Generals and big heads of the military turned out to pay their last respect to the man described as examplary.
A requiem mass was later organised at the Yaounde Basilica in Mvolye attended by the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Joseph Beti amongst others personalities.
Burial takes place on Saturday at the land of his ancestors in Djoum.

Born on 21st June 1937 at Essong in Djoum in the South Region.
#Joined the military in 1959, became sub lieutenant in 1961
#Appointed Platoon head at the Armoured Squadron in Dschang and later head of the Brigade of active cadet officers in 1962.
#Received training in armory and Calvary from 1963-1964 and was appointed assistant officer, commander of Infantry training centre in Ngaoundere.
#In 1973 he was appointed Commander of the Armoured Reconnaissance Battalion in Douala and later
to the National Armed Forces perfection and training centre in Koutaba.
#Attended the Royal Military School in Belgium.
#In 1978 was commander of military school in Ngaoundal.
#In 1980, commander the military Headquarters Regiment.
#In 1994, commander of the 8th Military Sector in Bertoua and later, the 5th Military Sector in Ngaoundere.
#In 2002, commander of the 1st combined military region with headquarters in Yaounde
#In 2011 appointed Logistics Adviser to the Minister of Defence
# Admitted to the 2nd section of Military Generals in 2017.
