The structure planted on a 408 metre square, an extension of the Tsinga Islamic Complex in Yaounde has been inaugurated this Thursday 14th February 2019.
The Adviser to the King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Member of the Higher Council of Ulemas, His Eminence Cheikh, Dr Sa’ad Bin Nasser As-Shithri chaired the ceremony to inaugurate the Tsinga Islamic Complex in Yaounde.
The imposing edifice located beside the Tsinga Mosque is the fruit of a win-win cooperation ties between Cameroon and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The extended section of the Tsinga Islamic Complex
The Tsinga Islamic Complex is a multipurpose educational centre planted on a 408 metre square.
The structure coated in yellow,white and green, colours of the flag Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is gift from the King of Saudi Arabia, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
The Islamic multipurpose complex comprises of the following;
– A modern refectory
-A nursery and primary school (with an accomotion space of 600 pupils)
-A conference hall (amphitheatre) with a capacity of five hundred seats.
-A prayer ground for Women
-A Computer Laboratory
-Muslim TV centre.
The construction of the extension took some two years and few months.
The Tsinga Islamic Complex was inaugurated in 1997 by the President of the Republic of Cameroon, Paul Biya.
Adding to the multipurpose islamic and educational centre, the complex has a modern mosque, a residential area and an administrative unit
The Inauguration ceremony
The high profile event was chaired by the Adviser to the King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Member of the Higher Council of Ulemas, His Eminence Cheikh, Dr Sa’ad Bin Nasser As-Shithri.
Speaking during the inaugural, His Eminence Cheikh, Dr .Sa’ad Bin Nasser As-Shithri, Adviser to the King of Saudi Arabia, Servant of the Two Mosques expressed the King’s wish to extend the cooperation ties with Cameroon to other domains like technology, energy, road infrastructure, health and communication.
He used the event to visit to the school, the modern refectory, the Muslim TV centre amongst many others.
The Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of relations with the Islamic World, Adoum Gargoum, the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Basic Education, Dr Asheri Kilo , members of the diplomatic Corps, special guests and muslim faithful witnessed the inauguration ceremony of the extension of the Tsinga Islamic Centre in Yaounde.
The Delegation of Saudi Arabians led by the Imam and Speaker of the Holy Mosque of the Prophet of Medina, His Eminence Cheikh Abdullah Bin Abdul Rahman Albaeijan is on a four day visit to Cameroon.
During their sojourn, the team will be received in audience by President Paul Biya and later travel to the Far North to inaugurate the Maroua Grand Mosque.
