Commonwealth Day: Minister cautions against hate speech
Cameroon joined other countries of the gentlemen’s club to observe the 70th Commonwealth Day this 11th March 2019 .
In Yaounde, commemorative activities took place at the Ministry of External Relations on the theme; “A connected Commonwealth “.
The ceremony was chaired by the Minister of External Relations Le Jeune Mbella Mbella.
Mr Le Jeune Mbella Mbella discussed Cameroon’s relations with the Commonwealth of Nations.
Meanwhile, The Minister in charge of Relations with the Common Wealth, Felix Mbayu cautioned Cameroonians against hate speech , arguing that hate language is a detour to the harmony of the Commonwealth Community.
Facts about the Commonwealth
The Commonwealth is an association of fifty-three English Speaking countries, particularly British colonies, headed by the Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth ll .
The organization was created in 1949 to promote human rights, and advance socio-economic corporation amongst member states.
