The 2019 Women’s Division One Football Championship begins Saturday 15th March 2019 in Yaounde.
According to the fixtures, Awa will play against Louves Minproff. Social of Mbam will also clash with Green City while Renaissance of Figuil takes on Caiman.
Defending champions Louves Minproff and arch rivals Amazone Fap of Yaounde may not meet this season during the championship except they are matched in the final game.
This is so because the 12 clubs of the championship have been split in two groups with the two best clubs heading each group.
FAP has been placed in Group A alongside last year’s cup of Cameroon finalists Éclair of Sa’a, Panthere Security and AS Diamare.
Two newcomers, Canon Girls and Maranatha of Douala are also in the group.
Round one fixtures will have Canon against Amazone FAP, AS Diamare hosting Maranatha while Eclaire of Sa’a welcoming Panthere Security.
The she-wolves of the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment, Louves Minproff have been placed in group B and will face last season’s division one runners up Awa football girls, Social of Mbam, Caiman girls of Douala, Green City of Yaounde and newly promoted Renaissance of Figuil.
The championship has been organised in a round robin format; the first in each cluster will play a final game to decide the winners of the championship.
The last in each group will be automatically be relegated to the regional leagues while another match pitting the second from bottom in both clusters will decide the 3rd club to drop.
