A suspected human bone trafficker is under police custody in Douala Littoral region.
The man identified as Mohamadou Abbo was apprehended by the security forces on the weekend of 16th March 2019.
He was caught with a large consignment of human bones as he attempted to sell some to a traditional practitioner.
The traditional practitioner alerted the police in the course of negotiations.
He explained to police that the suspect approached him with the offer.
When he turned down the proposal, Mohamadou Abbo asked him to assist in finding another buyer.
The forces of law and order were informed.
Posing as potential buyers, Mr Mohamadou Abbo was easily apprehended.
Mr Abbo identified to be from the Northern region, said he was transporting the “goods” on behalf of a third party.
He said he was promised a hundred thousand Francs as payment for the errand.
Mahamadou Abbo who seem to understand only the Fufulde national language has promised to collaborate with the security officers to crackdown on the human bones trafficking gang.
