Brexit: British Lawmakers agree to delay Brexit
British lawmakers have voted to delay UK’s departure from the EU. The lawmakers came to a consensus during a voting exercise that saw the rejection of a referendum on Thursday 14th March 2019. The vote to delay Brexit comes one day after the lawmakers voted against a “no-deal” Brexit.
Mrs May now has one week to seek an extension from the EU. On the 22nd and 23rd March 2019, UK’s Prime Minister will convince EU leaders why Brexit should be extended. But Mrs May warns that if the British leaders fail to agree to a deal, Brexit could be further delayed.
The UK was due to leave the EU on 29th March, but the vote could impose major alterations.
New zealand : Christchurch mass shootings kill 49 people
Forty-nine people have died and 20 other injured following mass shootings at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand.
After the gruesome act, Police arrested a man in his late twenties . He has been charged with murder, and is due to appear in court on Saturday , 16th March 2019. Two others have also been arrested in connection with the incident.
Commenting on the Shootings, the Prime Minister of New Zealand , Jacinda Ardern said the act was a terrorist attack. He has also stated that Newzealand is in ” one of it’s darkest days”.
The attack on the al Noor mosque and the Linwood mosque, came during prayers. It has been described as the deadliest in the country’s history .
