National Assembly : Executive Bureau elected

The Executive Bureau of the National Assembly has been elected during a plenary session.

The Eldest member of the house, Honourable Enoh Tanjong presided over the election of the Speaker.

Honourable Cavaye Yeguie Djibil ran unopposed ; he was reelected.

The newly elected Speaker thanked the MPs for the confidence. He exhorted all to work for peace and unity during upcoming elections in the country.

He saluted the fraternity expressed at the National Assembly in the past 26 years.

Honourable Cavaye Yeguie Djibril later supervised the reelection of the First Vice President, Honourable Hilarion Eton.

This was followed by the election of the vice Presidents, Questors and Secretaries that took place through the list system.

At the close of the session, the Assembly paid tribute to one of theirs, the UPC Member of Parliament, Honourable Sende Pierre who passed on to glory.
