2019 FENASSCO : Centre region tops the medal chart

Centre, the host region of the just ended FENASSCO A games, is overall best with a total of fifty medals, twenty-six in gold, nine in silver and fifteen in bronze.

 

The athletes were in frenzy at the Lycee Leclerc on Sunday 7th April 2019 during the close of the six-day secondary and high school competitions.

The Far North is second with a total of sixty-one medals,  nineteen gold, twenty-one silver and twenty-one bronze.

The Littoral, third with forty-one metal, fourteen in gold, eleven in silver and sixteen in bronze.

Other special distinctions went to Adela Ntede Murrielle winner of three gold metals for the centre region.

She got a trophy for best female.

Abba Sali from the Far North was crowned the most valuable athlete in the men’s category.

Handballer, Achua Isabelle from the South West region was confered the best women’s athlete award in the category of the Teachers’ Training Colleges.

The South West delegation got the fair play price and the North West region a special prize.

The Secondary Education boss, Professor Nalova Lyonga said the special prizes to the two troubled regions is rewarded for braving the security threats.

The Minister disclosed that Mvomeka in the South region will be next host of FENASSCO (2020 edition)

2019 FENASSCO: Medal Chart

1. Centre Region, 50 medal – 26 gold 9 silver 15 bronze
2. Far North,  61 medals – 19 golds 21 silver 21 bronze
3. Littoral,  41 medals – 14 gold 11 silver 16 bronze
4. West , 39 medals,  8 golds 9 silver 22 bronze
5. Adamawa,  33 medals,  7 gold 7 silver 19 bronze
6. South West,  22 medals , 6 gold 6 silver 10 bronze
7. North West , 29 medals, 5 gold 3 silver 21 bronze
8. East, 19 medals, 3 gold, 7 silver 9 bronze
9. North, 25 medals , 3 gold, 7 silver 15 bronze
10. South, 13 medals, 00 gold, 10 silver 13 bronze

The centre region was second in last year FENASSCO games organised in the Adamawa.

The Far North Region has maintained her position as the second best, a position she held last year 2018.

The West Region has moved backward, from the third position in 2018 to fourth in 2019.
