Pilgrim Guides for the 2019 Moslem Pilgrimmage, Hadj have been updated on issues concerning the annual trip to Saudi Arabia.
The Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji briefed the guides during a meeting that took place on 15th April 2019.
The Minister revealed that in all, 2839 pilgrims will undertake the 2019 Hadj, 350 more participants compared to last year.
He said the first departure will be on 29th July 2019 and the return, 24th August 2019.
As innovation, the pilgrims will lodge in hotels very close to the Holy Mosque.
The Pilgrim Guides saluted Government’s involvement to ease the trip to Saudi Arabia.
They stated that in the past years, they lived relatively far from the Mosque making movement difficult especially for the elderly.
Issues concerning visas, flight tickets cost and identification of pilgrims were also agreed upon during the meeting.
Minister Atanga Nji exhorted all in participation to respect the laws of Saudi Arabia and uphold discipline during their stay.
