2019 AFCON : Head Coach makes public a list of 34

The Head Coach of the Indomitable Lions, Clarence Seedorf has published a list of 34 players for the expedition in Egypt.

After the publication, Many are criticising the absence of some star players like the Liverpool defender, Joel Matip and centre back stronghold, Nicholas Nkoulou.

Of the fourteen strikers summoned, only two have ten goals and above this season. Franck Kom of Esperance of Tunis who is talk of the day in African football and top Coton Sports defender, Thomas Eta Bawak are amongst those who have thrilled fans but ignored by Clarence Seedorf.


#Andre Onana: He is Cameroonian International shot keeper with Ajax Amsterdam. He had an outstanding season and ended the champions league at the semi- finals gaining one of the best records as the second African goalkeepper at the UEFA Champions.
Andre Onana counts 54 saves in 18 games in the champions league this season including the six games in the qualifying stages.

#Fabrice Ondoa: He is an AFCON winning goalkeeper for Cameroon

#Kameni Idriss Carlos: Back to camp, he plays more of a leadership role for the squad.

#Omossola Mejo Simon: He is Cotonsport’s goalkeeper making a debut into the national team.
He is one of the two home based players summoned for the 2019 AFCON in Egypt.


#Fai Collins: Defender with Standard Liege in Belgian. He has a record of twenty-eigth participations in league matches, with one goal and three assists.

#Jerome Onguene: He plays for the Red Bull Salzburg in Austria. He is not regular in the team.

#Micheal Ngadeu: The Indomitable Lion is presently having a great season with Slavia Prague. He counts twenty-six outings with the Czech top flight team and eleven games in the UEFA Europa League.

#Yaya Banana: He is also on an advantaged position with his Greek club, Panionios.

#Jean Armel Kana Biyik: The 28 year old is rated as an asset to the team.

#Gaetan Bong: At the left back position, featured in twenty-two Premier League games with his English club,  Brighton and Albion.

#Ambroise Oyongo Bitolo: He has been a key performer for French ligue 1 club, Montpellier.

#Joyskim Aurelien Dawa Tchakonte: Deemed fit by the coach but sports critics say the 23 year old has been a substitute with his little known Ukraine club, Maruipol almost throughout the season. The defender registered just six appearances this time.

# Fuchs Jeando Pourrat: Another defender has little to proof this season but Head Coach Clarence Seedorf has the final word.


#Frank Andre Zambo #Anguissa of Fulham #Pierre Kunde Malong ,They are three high prized players who had a great season

#George Constant Mandjeck: He participated in 28 league games this season. He scored 4 goals, got 11 yellow and one red card.


# Wilfrid Jaures Kaptoum: He featured in eight La Liga games, three in the Europa League and two in Spanish Copa Del Rey for Real Betis this season.

#Boumal Petrus: He has been one of the very first names on FC Ural Yekaterinburg in the Russian top flight.

#Pierre Ramses Akono : The 18 year old is from Ending Sport of Lekie. He is a new comer.


# Paul- Georges Ntep: 26 years old. He is player with Wolfsburg . Football critics are not betting on him arguing that he has not played a single competitive match this season.

#Fabrice Olinga: He has spend the season as a permanent late substitute with no goal to his credit.

#Stephane Bahoken #Njie Clinton #Christian Bassogog are household names in the squad.
Njie has two goals and Bahoken eleven. Christian Bassogog still keeps the crown as the 2017 AFCON Best Player.

#Eric Choupo- Moting: Three League goals
#Pierre Nsame : nine
#Karl Toko Ekambi: thirteen goals and two assists in thirty-three games.
These are big names within the Lion’s den.

#Vincent Aboubakar: He comes back to the utmost satisfaction of his fans. He has been absent for six months due to an injury.

# Nicolas Moumi Ngamaleu

They all fall within the category of players who need to convince fans of the Indomitable Lions that Clarence Seedorf made the right choice.
