The 2019 General Certificate of Education exams organised by the Cameroon GCE Board effectively began on Monday 27th May in all ten regions of Cameroon.
The first day of the written session of the GCE exams ended hitch free.
Security was reinforced in all centres and especially beefed up in centres in the two restive regions (North West and South West).
The North West Governor visited the five accommodation centres in Bamenda and appreciated the conduct of the exams.
He assured both parents and candidates that very stringent measures have been put in place to ensure the smooth running of the exams despite efforts made by unknown gangs to perturb the exams.
The Governor gave the assurance following an incident at the PSS Mankon accommodation centre.
In the South West region, the chief of centre for Molyko the biggest centre Cecilia Lyonga stated that apart from a few absences, the exams began in a serene atmosphere.
Other correspondent reports indicate the 2019 session is on a successful start.
