NW/SW: SDF proposes terms for dialogue

The SDF has taken cognisances of the Head of State’s call for dialogue and have made proposals to the Prime Minister on the way out of the crisis.

The party’s Shadow Cabinet official for Information and Media, Jean Robert Waffo who also doubles as Deputy Mayor for Douala II Council said the SDF has identified four conditions for dialogue.

The SDF big wig who has been an active supporter since 1992 indicates that the pre conditions for the resolution of the crisis include:

# bilateral and immediate ceasefire. Armed groups should lay down their weapons and Defense force return the the barracks.

#political prisoners detained because of the crisis should be liberated

#Designation of a mediator and acceptance of observers.

The mediator will make contacts and gather proposals from Cameroonians and protagonists of the crisis who are found within the National territory, Nigeria, North America and Europe.

Observers accepted after a consensus will be there to evaluate the process involved in the resolution of the crisis and return to peace in line with conclusions that would have been reached during dialogue.

He said the SDF chairman is one with such charisma and qualities to mediate the crisis.

#Postponement of local elections. The SDF Information officer says it will not be possible to organize credible legislative and council elections in places where there is almost no life with the two regions.

He however noted that the proposals made to the Prime Minister notwithstanding, what is urgent for the moment is the resolution of the crisis and a return to peace.
