2019 International Cycling Tour : MINSEP chairs second and last preparatory meeting

The Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi has chaired the second and last preparatory meeting for the 2019 International Cycling Tour of Cameroon.

 

The enlarged meeting was organised on Monday 27th May 2019 in Yaounde,  six days to the start of the tour.

The Minister listened exposees presented by various committees in the build up to the competition.

The committees concerned in the 16th edition of the International Cycling tour of Cameroon are;

-Health Commission
-Communication
-Security
-Logistics
-Finance
-Technical amongst other sub-commissions.

Minister Narcisse Mouelle Kombi during the meeting emphasized that the security of the athletes should be of utmost importance.

He called on the Delegation of the National Security and the Gendarmerie to get on board and map out an authentic security cordon around all actors and areas associated with the cycling race.

The Minister concluded by warning against any lapses arguing that the International Cycling tour is not just sports but occasion to reinforce with member countries.

The President of the Cameroon Cycling Federation, Honoré Yossi on his part declared;
“We hope to have  a successful event this year. We had started training and now aim at a yellow jersey ” .

The 16th edition of the International Cycling Tour of Cameroon begins 1st  through 9th June 2019 across six of the ten regions in the country. Admist the security challenges, the present edition has a lap from Douala – Limbe in the competition.
