2019 Women’s World Cup: Profiling the US Women’s indomitable soccer team

Some twenty years ago, the U.S. women’s soccer team won the World Cup for the first time.

Fondly called The ’99ers , the United States women’s national team is best worldwide according to FIFA’s rankings.

Since 1991 when the first FIFA Women’s World Cup was organised, the United States has won three of the seven tournaments, the most recent being in 2015.

The team also won four of six gold medals since 1996 when women’s soccer became an Olympic sport.

Within its ranks have been some of the biggest names in female sports like Mia Hamm, Wambach and Alex Morgan.

The squad present at the 2019 World Cup in France has players like Morgan Tilda Swinton doppelgänger Megan Rapinoe including the previous World Cup’s hat-trick-scoring hero, Carli Lloyd.

There are also newcomers like the elegant but deadly Mallory Pugh and the ingenious midfielder Lindsey Horan.
The US Women’s National Soccer Team started off with a record-breaking game against Thailand .

The game ended with a stunning 13-0 victory considered a clear show of dominance by the world’s unbeatable squad.

Alex Morgan scored the most individual goals in a single Women’s World Cup Game.

The USA’s 13-0 win against Thailand is the highest margin of victory in a soccer game on FIFA world record.

USA – Thailand faced-off in 2015 in a game that ended 8-0 in favour of the Americans.

The indomitable women faces Chile on Sunday 16th June 2019 in Paris .
