Boko Haram attack in Darak: Minister on the facts and figures

A total of 64 Boko Haram insurgents have been neutralised, eight captured several escaped with injuries and three armoured carriers used by the invaders destroyed.

The attack in Darak, Logone and Chari Division, Far North Region of Cameroon also resulted to the death of sixteen Cameroon’s Defence Forces and eight injured.

Eight civilians were equally killed and one injured.

The victims are currently receiving treatment in military hospitals.

The Minister Delegate at the Presidency in Charge of Defence, Joseph Beti Assomo’s press release states that the gun battle lasted several hours.

The terrorists met fierce resistance from Cameroon’s Defence Forces deployed in the locality under the auspices of the Multinational Joint Task Force of the Lake Chad Basin Commission.

Following the attack which took place during the night of Sunday 9th to Monday 10th June 2019, the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, extends the condolences of the Head of State, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces to the families of the soldiers and civilians who died in the attack.
