NW/NW Government condemns attack at Eyoumojock

Government strongly condemns the death of four police officers killed and five other injured following an explosion of a landmine planted on the road to Eyoumojock in Manyu Division of the South West region.

The information is contained in a press release from the Minister of Communication, Rene Emmanuel Said. The release indicated that the attack that took place on Saturday, 15th June 2019 when a when a vehicle of the National Police Force was hit by on an improvised explosive devices planted by secessionists some nine Kilometres to the Eyumojock from Mamfe.

The vehicle that was part of a convoy that was transporting defence and security forces from the Divisional Head quarters Mamfe heading to Otu border not far from Eyumojock are the border area.

The Government’s spokes person indicated that on the instructions of the President of the Republic the victims were evacuate by helicopter to the Douala military hospital for intensive medical care.

The release noted that government condemns in the strongest terms the criminal act perpetrated by armed gangs and terrorists against devoted and conscious personnel of the forces of laws and order whose main vocation and mission is always to protect people and their goods.

Rene Emmanual Sadi regretted the fact that the deadly attacks are coming at the time when efforts are rife with the impulsion of the Head of State  to engage inclusive dialogue to end the crisis in the North West and South regions.
