The Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Joseph Beti Assomo is in Bamenda for a 24 hour working visit in the North West region.
He is in the region for a security assessment of the situation in the North West and South West regions.
Upon arrival in the North West regional capital, the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence was welcomed at the 501 air base by the Governor of the North West region, Adolph Lele Lafrique.
After the welcome formalities, Minister Beti Assomo visited wounded soldiers at the Rapid Intervention Battalion, BIR military base in Bafut.
He also went to the military hospital and the headquaters at Up station in Bamenda to encourage soldiers soldiers wounded in the region.
During a closed door meeting with top ranking security and administrative officers in the region, he extended the message of congratulation and encouragement to forces of the 5th joint military region of the Commander-in-of the Armed Forces, Paul Biya.
The congratulations where given to the Commander of the 5th Military Region, Brigadier General Agha Robinson.
After the North West region, the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence will travel to the South West regions for a similar security assessment.
